This is a song that took me a few months to complete, and was inspired by Job 24-28, and a daily reading by Paul David Tripp on these chapters. He talks about the fact that our hearts are always being captured and shaped by the awe of something. God has hardwired us to be in awe of Him in worship in surrender.
Quoting Paul, “If awe of God doesn’t shape our lives when times are hard, then awe of something else will. Biblical faith never asks us to deny reality. But it dos require that we meditate on the glory of God in the midst of overwhelming trouble”
In the midst of Job’s suffering and loss, when his friends mock him, Job was still in awe of God as highlighted in Job 26: 7-14.
Let’s pray that God helps us to be in awe of Him during times of trouble and suffering. Let us strive to be like Job.
