I never realized how much MJ influenced me till I heard the news yesterday about his death. I was in a trance for a while looking back at my childhood yrs and how his music was there all through! He has influenced all of us in some way or the other. Needless to say that there will NEVER be another MJ or anyone even close as his music/dance transcends time..
This cover of Man in the Mirror is my tribute to the legend. RIP MJ!

First of all, I want to thank Shonnie Madan from Muziboo for reminding me of this song. I had totally forgotten about this song and then I heard her cover, which prompted me to sing this.
There is a reason why I havent covered Stevie Wonder to date. Its coz he is nothing short of a Genius. His vocal range and style of singing is hard to mimic. This is my fav song of his. I did introduce some variations (couldnt resist).
Let me know what you think.

This is an extremely emotional song written by the John Reznik, lead singer of the group Goo Goo Dolls. His parents died when he was young and his sisters brought him up. One of the common interpretations of this song is that it reflects on his childhood.
My wife is very fond of this song and hence it goes out to her.

I wanted to do something totally different and hence picked this song. This is a song by the French group Kaoma. Lambada is actually a form of dance for couples that is very popular in Brazil. There are a number of songs based around this dance form and this one is probably the most recognized world wide.
The song was originally sung by a woman. I did not want to change the scale as I felt it would ruin the beauty of the song. This definitely ranks as one of the toughest songs I’ve covered coz of the style, all the subtle expressions and nuances and ofcourse the language.
Hope this takes you down memory lane

Looking back at my life, particularly the last 5 yrs or so, I have been obsessed with my career and have led a very routine life for the most part. Its been about my life, my goals, my family etc. Sometimes I sit back and think what my end goal is and what kind of a legacy I am leaving behind. How am I going to be remembered when I die? What sort of an impact am I making in the lives of people I interact with? I would think people would say “Aah George, well he was good at his job and sang really well!” Is that how I’d like to remembered? I dont think so!
